A New Season {+ a Flirty Fall Dress}

OUTFIT DETAILS: DRESS // BOOTS // SILK SCARF // TOTE BAG (similar) // SUNGLASSES (similar) // NECKLACE

October is finally here! Each year, I sit down at the beginning of the fall season and take time to reflect on where I’m at in both my personal and professional lives and how I intend to move forward. For me, autumn feels like a fresh start, a time of new beginnings. Over the years, some pretty big life events have taken place during this season such as moving to a new state, starting my Youtube channel, and this blog.

This year, I’m spending the month of October to focus on rest. September was a nonstop whirlwind of packing up our lives, entertaining out of town visitors, and moving into our new home. Needless to say, the adrenaline has finally worn off and I’ve been hit with exhaustion. I realized that I need to take some time and put an emphasis on rest. Find a new book to read, start working out regularly again {something I’ve been putting off for months!}, and take time to unplug.

Matt and I are visiting New England for the first time this month. It’ll be our first trip this year without any work events, meetings, or planned itineraries and I cannot wait. I’m mostly looking forward to spending time outdoors  in the cool, crisp autumn air. Florida is a wonderful place to live but the heat has been very intense the past couple of months. It’s been far warmer than it was this time last year and I’m desperate for cooler temperatures. Plus, I can’t wait to see the changing leaves!

Now on to this dress…I’ve been living in skirts and dresses recently {again, because of the heat} and this burgundy dress has been in constant rotation. You may have seen me wearing it here in my last YouTube video. I love the flirty ruffle details on the sleeves and hem. It has an elastic waist making it very comfortable and easy to wear. You could wear it casually on the weekends or dress it up with a tailored blazer or jacket.

It doesn’t come in petite sizing but I ordered an XXS and I probably could’ve gone up a size. The sleeves are a little tight so keep that in mind if you order it. I absolutely love this color for fall! I’ve already been wearing a lot of burgundy shades this season, like my favorite pair of dress pants I shared in this post.

This dress is great because it pairs well with both heels and boots. I’ve worn it with my studded ankles boots as well as my favorite pair of leopard print pumps.

You guys know I love accessorizing with silk scarves. I think they add a unique personal touch to any look and this one includes all of my favorite colors for this season! I tied it to my blush Tory Burch tote bag that’s been going everywhere with me lately. Unfortunately, it’s no longer in stock but you can find a similar style here and this black nylon version is another one of my go-to’s.

So what about you….do you take time to reflect at the start of a new season? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for stopping by! xx
