Tea Time Thoughts No. 4

tea time thoughts no. 4

Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re having a good week so far. I’ve been settling back into our daily routine now that we’re back home from visiting our families in South Carolina. We had such a wonderful visit! We finished our time in SC in Charleston with Matt’s family. Even though we were only there for a short visit, it’s always such a relaxing getaway.

Today I wanted to share a few thoughts and new finds as we get back into our daily routine.

Vintage China Set

My mother in law gave us such a special gift while we were there. She found the most beautiful vintage china set at her church yard sale and gifted us the entire set! I can’t stop staring at it. I love collecting vintage china and this set is gorgeous. It is Noritake Montblanc (7527) and was produced from 1962 to 1976. It looks very similar to the Vera Wang collection that Matt and I selected as our wedding china, making it even more special.

Linen Closet Organization

It’s been dreary and rainy most days since we’ve been back in Orlando so I spent most of the weekend inside. I decided to reorganize our linen closet and cabinets in our bathrooms. They quickly get out of hand – overstuffed and full of random towels and washcloths.

I went to Target and found these blue and white storage bins. I thought the print was pretty and it matches the blue and white shower curtain in our master bath. I put our white towels in these in our master storage closet, but I still have a lot more work to do. I need to pick up some smaller bins for face towels and guest towels in our guest bathroom. I also want to start reorganizing the cabinets under our bathroom sinks.

Once I finish with everything I’ll work on putting together a bathroom organization/linen closet post so you can see the finished project.

New Home Fragrance

While we were in SC we visited my cousin’s new home in Greenville. She used to be a Store Manager of Diptyque in NYC and as you can imagine, her home always smells so lovely. While she was giving us a tour of her new house, she showed us her amazing candle collection and gave me one to take home! You may know that I’m a huge fan of Diptyque fragrances. I’ve mentioned them in numerous YouTube videos and blog posts. When I worked at Bluemercury many years ago, we sold their products and I fell in love with the brand.

The candle Kristin gave me is from the Tomas Maier collection that is no longer available. However, this fragrance is one that I always have in our home, no matter the season. It’s the perfect blend of tart berries and freshly picked roses. Not too sweet or overbearing. There’s a reason why this is Diptyque’s best-selling fragrance!

I also love burning this scent as we get closer to autumn. It’s a warm, smoky scent that smells just like you’ve stepped into a cozy log cabin in the middle of winter. This one is especially nice to burn here in Florida because you won’t find fireplaces here..this is as close as I can get!

Sling-back Heels with Pearls

I haven’t stopped thinking about these gorgeous sling-back heels since I got the email announcing new arrivals at Sarah Flint. The pearl buttons are such an elegant touch on this neutral staple. The block heel is the perfect height, too. You can wear them with pants or dresses. I immediately added these to my wishlist!
