tea time thoughts home comforts

Today I’m starting a new series on the blog called “Tea Time Thoughts”. This is reminiscent of the Tea Time Tuesday videos I used to upload every Tuesday on my YouTube channel many years ago {and if you remember those videos, thank you for sticking around for so long 🤗}. Starting today, every Tuesday I’ll be sharing weekly musings or finds that you can peruse while sipping a cuppa {or glass of wine, whatever suits your fancy!}.

Home Comforts

I love filling our home with items or daily rituals that bring me comfort. This has been especially true the past year when we’ve spent so much time in our apartment.

These are little comforts or daily routines that bring me joy when I need to recharge and have a little me time.

1 – Reading

I just finished The Woman in the Window. Wow! Such a thrilling book. I watched the movie on Netflix {starring Amy Adams, love her} and had to read it. If you like suspenseful novels that keep you on the edge of your seat, I highly recommend this one! I’m searching for my next read so if you have any, please send me a DM with your book recommendations!

2 – Ted Lasso

I know everyone is talking about this show on Apple+ but I cannot get enough. Matt and I watched the first season last year. Then re-watched it again right away. It’s pure, hilarious, inspiring, and brought us so much comfort during such a difficult time in our lives. Season two started last Friday and I can already tell it’s going to be just as good as the first season! Have you watched it?

3 – Baths

This is my favorite way to unwind after a long day. If you watched my old pamper routine YouTube videos then this comes as no surprise. Tea in hand {or a glass of Prosecco if it’s my Friday}, baths are a comforting ritual that I look forward to every week. I love L’Occitane products and this Lavender Foaming Bath is the best. It provides the most thick, luscious bubbles with just the smallest amount of product. Plus it smells heavenly. The lavender is relaxing yet not overpowering. I close my eyes and imagine that I’ve been transported to Haute-Provence. 🛁 Pure bliss.

4 – Tea Time

Of course I had to include my favorite teas to kickoff the new series! Even in the warm summer months I perfer to drink hot tea. There’s something about brewing a cup of tea that brings me so much comfort. There are many varieties that I love, however recently I can’t get enough of Yogi Roasted Dandelion Spice. It’s a cinnamon and cardamom seed blend that tastes warm and comforting. And when I need a caffeine boost, I’ve been brewing Allegro Tea Jasmine Green. The perfect blend of fragrant white florals with a hint of earthy nuttiness.

5 – Candles

I keep candles everywhere around our apartment. Not only are they an affordable way to personalize a small space, but they’re such an easy way to create a warm, inviting environment at home. Diptyque candles are my absolute favorite splurge. They’re pricey but burn for hours and hours and fill our entire apartment with their scent. My current favorite is Baies, which smells like roses and blackcurrant leaves. It’s so lovely. I also found this more affordable Lavender and Eucalyptus candle that I keep in our guest bathroom.
