Current Beauty + Fashion Favorites for Spring

[dropcap custom_class=”big”] Recently, I’ve discovered several new fashion and beauty favorites, mostly thanks to the Sephora sale earlier this month. I like to keep my makeup fresh and soft in the spring, focusing on using products that bring a natural glow to the skin. I’ve never been one to do a lot of eye makeup, but I do enjoy playing with different eyeshadow colors from time to time – especially for an evening look. Shades of pinks, rosy plums, and golden shimmers are my usual go-to colors in the spring. For fashion, I’ve fallen in love with the Gal Meets Glam Collection by Julia Engal – a dress line that was launched this month. Seriously, every piece is literal perfection – timeless, sophisticated, and elegant. Here are my current beauty and fashion favorites from the month of April:[/dropcap]

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow palette – I’m in love with every shade in this eyeshadow palette. The colors are perfect for day to night looks and it includes both matte and shimmer finishes. Each shadow applies and blends beautifully and the pigmentation is spot-on. I’m not the type of girl who purchases every new “it” makeup palette, but this one is a must-have!

Hourglass Ambient Lightening Blush in Mood Exposure – It’s safe to say that this is my first of many Hourglass purchases because this blush is a game. changer. I know that sounds dramatic but I’ve never liked a blush more than this! I’m obsessed. The rosy plum color and pigmentation are amazing and it gives your skin a gorgeous, luminous glow. It has completely changed my makeup routine for the better and I cannot wait to check out more shades in this formula {and try their bronzers and powders, too!}

Jo Malone fragrance in Wood Sage and Sea Salt – This fragrance smells like crisp, salty sea air blended with earthy sage and wood. It’s fresh and light enough for an every day fragrance – a perfect springtime scent.

GHD Curling Iron – It’s definitely a splurge, but the tri-zone technology and even temperature distribution within the wand sold me on this curling iron. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks but wow, I’m impressed! It heats up within seconds and leaves my curls in tact all day. My second day hair maintains nice waves yet not as curled as the day before {which I prefer}.

GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Treatment Mask –  I gotta say, this is not a product I would’ve purchased on my own. I received this at the Create & Cultivate Conference back in February and I really like it! You never know what to expect with skin firming claims, but this mask actually leaves your skin tighter and more radiant. The mask is a mud based, bright white color that dries down to a metallic silver chrome {it’s so fun, it even comes with a fancy brush for application!}. You peel it off after 30 minutes revealing smooth, glowing skin! I think this is the perfect mask to use before a big event because the results are more instant than long-term.

This midi white eyelet skirt is the perfect addition to my spring wardrobe. The elastic waistband makes it super comfortable and easy to wear. It can be worn casually during the day with a linen button-up and espadrilles or dressed up with nice camisole like this one  and heels.

The Gal Meets Glam Collection by Julia Engal that I mentioned above will now be my go-to for every wedding, shower, or event when I want a feminine, classic dress. I purchased this dress because I was immediately drawn to the delicate blue and white floral pattern and flattering silhouette. Since she doesn’t offer petite sizing, {yet…I really hope she will!} I need to have it altered because the straps are a little big, however I knew it would probably need a few alterations when I purchased it. Regardless, I plan on ordering more from Julia’s collection in the very near future. And guess what’s even better?! She’s releasing new styles of dresses each month…super fun but not good for my wallet haha! 😉
