Sisley is one of those beauty brands where the sheer number of beautiful (yet extraordinarily expensive) products can make it difficult to know where to begin. The Friends & Family event is currently underway and with 20% off sitewide, I thought it would be helpful to share a few of my Sisley favorites.
I first discovered Sisley nearly two decades ago when my best friend got a job at their counter in Bloomingdales in NYC. She kindly gifted me a few of their best-selling products at the time and those very products remain staples in my routine today.
What makes Sisley so unique is the sensory experience you get while using their products. It truly feels like an escape to a luxurious spa. The calming plant-based ingredients and luxurious textures are part of what makes the experience feel so special, while the formulas combine carefully selected botanicals with Sisley’s scientific expertise.

What I’d Buy First
The product I’ve purchased most often from Sisley is the Ecological Compound Advanced Formula. This complex works to balance the skin’s microbiome and protect against daily aggressors. The texture is a light-weight, non-greasy fluid with a semi-matte finish. I use this as my daily moisturizer during the hot summer months and it wears beautifully underneath makeup.
I wait for the sale to purchase this so I can take advantage of the gift set. This year’s gift set includes a full size of the Ecological Compound (125ml) plus travel sizes of the Eau Efficace micellar water, the All Day All Year face cream, and the Eye Contour Mask (another favorite of mine).
Best for a Beauty Ritual
If you’re like me and love a comforting evening skincare routine, then these are for you. Very few skincare products rival the sensory experience you get while using Sisley. The Floral Toning Lotion is a cult-classic for a reason –it’s refreshing, non-drying, and leaves your skin feeling so soft. And the subtle floral fragrance is something that immediately relaxes me at night. It’s one I look forward to using each day.
For a truly pampering experience, I follow with the Black Rose Cream Mask. If you haven’t tried this yet I cannot recommend it enough. It instantly makes my skin look smooth, lifted, and plump…I call it my facelift in a tube. I apply it at night (without rinsing) and wake up with plump, glowing skin. It’s also a must when I travel, to combat dehydrating plane air. The fragrance is a light rose scent that doesn’t overpower or linger.
A Makeup Pick
Honestly there are several Sisley makeup items I could mention here but being a lip balm addict, I feel that I have to call out their Phyto-Lip Twist Balm. It’s a tinted lip balm with a glossy, non-sticky finish. Comfortable and hydrating, it gives a smoothed appearance to my lips. My favorite shades are 11 Litchi (a nude beige), 2 Baby (a pink rose), and 16 Balm (a clear gloss). The twist up pencil packaging is practical and easy to carry in my handbag. I never have to worry about it leaking in my bag. (I’m looking at you, Dior Lip Oil…)
The Splurge
The Sisleÿa L’Intégral Anti-Age is a powerhouse of anti-aging botanicals backed by clinically proven results. I must admit, I’ve only ever used it through sample sizes I’ve received as GWPs over the years. It’s quite the splurge, and at 40 it’s not one I feel I need to invest in just yet. However, it’s worth mentioning because when I’ve used it, my fine lines looked noticeably smoother and softer. If you’re looking to splurge, then it’s definitely one to check out. It targets visible wrinkles, firmness, radiance, and elasticity.
What I’d Skip
I’d skip Sisley’s shampoos and conditioners. I don’t believe the price per use is worth it, as I didn’t notice anything special when I used them. However, the Hair Rituel Precious Hair Oil is one I’d repurchase. It made my hair shiny without weighing it down, and the 100ml bottle took me over a year to use up. I loved the soft floral fragrance, too.
The Sisley Friends & Family event is a good opportunity to try some of the brand’s more expensive products at a discount, particularly if you’re already planning to repurchase. These are the products I’ve personally gone back to over the years, and the ones I would consider first if you’re new to the brand.
