Chantecaille’s new limited edition fall makeup collection is here and I am thrilled to share this one with you today as this is one of my favorite collections they’ve done in recent years. The Lion Collection is in support of Lion Guardians – a conservation organization that provides safe tracking and documentation of lions in the wild while preserving local cultures. Each shade is inspired by nature and housed in beautiful, lion themed packaging.
Cheek
I had to share the cheek shade, Lion Pride, from this collection first because it’s truly a work of art. The shimmering embossed lion overlay in the powder is stunning. The finely milled, talc-free powder diffuses easily onto the skin leaving a warm rose-pink flush with a subtle shimmer. I enjoy Chantecaille’s cheek colors as they provide a soft, luminous finish that performs beautifully on all skin textures. They don’t emphasize texture and leave the skin looking soft and natural.
Eyes
There are three single eyeshadows included in this collection, and each one is packaged in a metallic green component featuring a unique photograph of a lion on top. If you’ve purchased Chantecaille eyeshadows, you’ll be familiar with this design, but I have to say the metallic green for this collection is a standout. It’s lovely! Chantecaille eyeshadows are particularly good for mature or dry skin as their gel-powder formulas provide sheer to medium buildable color payoff that gives a refined, polished finish.
- Narika – A soft golden-beige eyeshadow with a demi-matte finish. It is ideal for an all over wash on the lid as it immediately lifts and brightens the eye area. I’d say this shade is perfect for an everyday, daytime look.
- Selenkay – This eyeshadow is described as a shimmering rose-sand shade that has a luminescent finish. I love this one swept across the lid as an all over wash of warmth. It’s incredibly wearable and the pearlescent finish is smooth and soft.
- Martii – A deep chocolate brown with a shimmer finish. It has a slight warm, burgundy sheen that is perfect for building up definition. I used this along my lashline over their Luster Glide eyeliner in Garnet and it was a gorgeous combination.
Lips
The Lion Collection includes two shades in their Lip Veil formula, a balmy lipstick that contains hydrating, sustainably sourced Baobab oil.
- Rock Jasmine – Described as a tawny cinnamon brown, this shade is the perfect warm, fall neutral.
- Candelabra – A deep, rich blackberry that gives a berry-like stain on the lips.
I thought I would prefer Rock Jasmine, as it fits into my usual go-to lip colors, but Candalabra was actually my favorite of the two. It gives the most flattering just-bitten appearance, and I know this will be one I reach for often this fall.
