hello & welcome, it’s a pleasure to have you here
I’m a beauty enthusiast, content creator, and longtime observer of the rituals and artistry behind style, luxury skincare, and cosmetics. I began blogging in 2006, and over the years my blog has evolved into a thoughtful exploration of aesthetic beauty — from style to skincare and cosmetics, I’m passionate about curating daily rituals that add value to my daily life.
My background is in fashion and retail management from the Art Institute, with early professional experience in the luxury beauty industry. That foundation continues to inform how I select products today: with an eye for formulation, texture, wearability, and the subtle details that separate good products from exceptional ones.
Here, I focus on curated reviews, comparisons, and seasonal beauty edits designed for women who appreciate refinement and intention in their routines. Rather than chasing trends, I’m interested in products that feel elevated, thoughtfully formulated, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
Alongside my blog and content creation, I create original soft pastel artwork through Shannon H. Sullivan Studio. My artwork draws inspiration from serene landscapes, florals, and the quiet beauty of natural light.
For nearly two decades I’ve shared my work online, collaborating with brands, speaking at Google on authentic storytelling, and building a community centered around thoughtful curation and visual storytelling.
I live in Orlando, Florida with my husband Matt and our Maltese, Mickey.

FAQs
How did you get started on youtube?
I stubbled across a Lush haul by Elle Fowler while working in cosmetics and I immediately wanted to get involved in the community. Back then, YouTube felt like a secret club – hardly anyone knew what it was and it felt exciting being part of an emerging industry. My co-workers made fun of my “little makeup videos” back then but I’m so glad I stuck with it. I had NO clue that it would lead to so many amazing opportunities!
My sizing info
I’m 5 feet tall. For fit reference, my measurements are 32-25-35 (bust-waist-hips) with a 28 inch inseam. I wear size 6.5-7 shoe.
What type of camera do you use?
I’ve had many different cameras over the years. For videos, my favorite camera is this Sony with this lens. However, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 has become my go-to for vlogging. It fits easily in my purse and can film in both vertical and horizontal. The Creator Kit is such a great value, too.
how long have you lived in orlando?
Matt and I moved back here from Charleston, SC in 2016. This is our second time living in Orlando, we also lived in here 2008 while both working for Walt Disney World.
When did you get into art/soft pastels?
My mother is an art teacher so I grew up with somewhat of an awareness of art. She taught me a few basics but I never showed much interest in it…I was more into piano and musical theater growing up. However, in college I took a few classes such as color theory and fashion illustration and really enjoyed them. I picked up watercolor and gauche painting during the pandemic, but didn’t really stick with it. Then, in the spring of 2024 I stumbled across a soft pastel tutorial on Instagram and immediately felt enchanted by the medium. The tactile approach, the colorful sticks, the velvety pigments – truly captivating! As soon as I purchased my first set of soft pastels I was hooked. Painting with soft pastels has felt like coming home to myself.
Have you had botox, fillers, or any cosmetic procedures?
No I haven’t. I have a fear of needles and just haven’t had the courage to try anything yet. I feel like I’d be the one person who gets a crazy reaction or something. 🙈 But never say never! If I do decide to try something someday, I’d definitely share my experiences here!
What’s your fitness rotuine?
I’m a long-time devotee to the Tracy Anderson Method. I saw her on Oprah way back in 2007 and have been committed to her method every since! I do her mat classes or MyMode 4-6 days a week. I also love doing yoga and going for daily walks.
