hello & welcome, I’m so glad you’re here
I’m Shannon, a beauty/style creator, artist, and lifelong lover of all things beautiful. Since starting my blog in 2006, I’ve spent nearly two decades exploring beauty, style, and the small rituals that make everyday life feel a little more special.
My background is in Fashion and Retail Management from The Art Institute, and I spent many years working in the luxury beauty industry. That experience shaped the way I look at products today. Not just by what’s trending, but by the details that truly matter to me: the formulation, texture, performance, and the overall experience of using something worth investing in.
Here, I share thoughtfully curated beauty reviews, product comparisons, seasonal edits, and recommendations for women who appreciate timeless style and intentional choices. I’m less interested in chasing every new trend and more interested in discovering products that are beautifully made, worth investing in, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
In my spare time, I’m also an artist and the creator behind Shannon H. Sullivan Studio, where I create original soft pastel artwork inspired by nature, quiet moments, and the beauty of natural light.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with brands, speak at Google about authentic storytelling, and build a community centered around creativity and thoughtful curation.
I live in Orlando, Florida with my husband Matt and our Maltese, Mickey.
Thank you for being here! I hope you find inspiration, beauty, and a few new favorites along the way.

FAQs
How did you get started on youtube?
I stubbled across a Lush haul by Elle Fowler while working in cosmetics and I immediately wanted to get involved in the community. Back then, YouTube felt like a secret club – hardly anyone knew what it was and it felt exciting being part of an emerging industry. My co-workers made fun of my “little makeup videos” back then but I’m so glad I stuck with it. I had NO clue that it would lead to so many amazing opportunities!
My sizing info
I’m 5 feet tall. For fit reference, my measurements are 32-25-35 (bust-waist-hips) with a 28 inch inseam. I wear size 6.5-7 shoe.
What type of camera do you use?
I’ve had many different cameras over the years. For videos, my favorite camera is this Sony with this lens. However, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 has become my go-to for vlogging. It fits easily in my purse and can film in both vertical and horizontal. The Creator Kit is such a great value, too.
how long have you lived in orlando?
Matt and I moved back here from Charleston, SC in 2016. This is our second time living in Orlando, we also lived in here 2008 while both working for Walt Disney World.
When did you get into art/soft pastels?
My mother is an art teacher so I grew up with somewhat of an awareness of art. She taught me a few basics but I never showed much interest in it…I was more into piano and musical theater growing up. However, in college I took a few classes such as color theory and fashion illustration and really enjoyed them. I picked up watercolor and gauche painting during the pandemic, but didn’t really stick with it. Then, in the spring of 2024 I stumbled across a soft pastel tutorial on Instagram and immediately felt enchanted by the medium. The tactile approach, the colorful sticks, the velvety pigments – truly captivating! As soon as I purchased my first set of soft pastels I was hooked. Painting with soft pastels has felt like coming home to myself.
Have you had botox, fillers, or any cosmetic procedures?
No I haven’t. I have a fear of needles and just haven’t had the courage to try anything yet. I feel like I’d be the one person who gets a crazy reaction or something. 🙈 But never say never! If I do decide to try something someday, I’d definitely share my experiences here!
What’s your fitness rotuine?
I’m a long-time devotee to the Tracy Anderson Method. I saw her on Oprah way back in 2007 and have been committed to her method every since! I do her mat classes or MyMode 4-6 days a week. I also love doing yoga and going for daily walks.
