The Essentials by Burberry Beauty

If you desire a flawless, glowing complexion that highlights only your best features, look no further than “The Essentials” by Burberry Beauty. I love when I discover makeup products that enhance your skin, rather than cover it up, so from the moment I opened the package from Burberry I knew I would love this collection. These products were created to highlight your natural features without looking overly made-up. Each one has multiple uses, creating an ease to achieving the coveted ‘no make-up’ look. I’ve been incorporating these in my routine and I have fallen in love with the colors, pigmentation, and gorgeous packaging.

The Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base {It comes in 2 shades, I wear No. 1} is a beautiful, lightweight primer that gives your skin a soft, illuminated appearance without looking greasy or shimmery. It’s very subtle, just enough glow to give that ‘lit-from-within’ luminosity to the skin. It is 55% water-infused which hydrates my skin without making it oily. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and this doesn’t become oily on me throughout the day. I’ve worn this a few different ways – as a face primer before my foundation, mixed in with my foundation for a soft glow, and as a highlighter on my cheekbones and cupids’ bow. Each of these applications worked beautifully although my favorite use is as a face primer. It looks gorgeous under my foundation and gives a nice blur effect to my pores. It never feels heavy and allows my skin to breathe. From the chic packaging to the gorgeous application, the Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base is the perfect multi-use product if you’re looking to get a dewy, fresh complexion.

What I love most about the counter and highlighting pens are the ability to apply and blend effortlessly. The Face Contour  {which comes in 2 shades, I use Meduim No. 1}  is a creamy, blendable stick that gives a soft contour and definition to the skin. This product contours and sculpts the skin without creating harsh lines. The stick application is super easy to use and apply to smaller areas such as around your nose. I’ve also used this on my eyelids to add a little definition to my eyes and it blends beautifully, without looking streaky or patchy. The Medium shade has the perfect amount of warmth without being too orangey, it’s a very nice neural shade. This is one of those products that I can see myself purchasing again and again.

The Lip Colour Contour {available in 4 colors, I have Medium No. 03} is an easy way to achieve fuller looking lips. It sculpts and contour the lips giving them a full, plump appearance enhancing your natural shape. I’ve used this to contour my lips, applying only to the edges of my lips like I would do with a pencil liner, as well as an all over color and it looks gorgeous both ways. I’ve been opting for this over my pencils since it arrived because it lines my lips, giving a contoured appearance, without feeling or looking drawn on. It creates the perfect shadow effect and feels like I’m wearing nothing on my lips. The texture is very soft, creamy, and hydrating. I’ve worn this for several hours throughout the day and it surprisingly kept my lips extremely moisturized. Medium No. 03 is a sophisticated deep pink-nude. I’m curious to see what the lighter shades look like in person but Medium is a great everyday color for achieving a subtle sculpted look. {the photo above is before applying the Lip Colour Contour and below is after.}

The Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen is hands down one of the best highlighting pens I’ve ever used. It’s so natural and effortless without being over the top. If you want a subtle, yet radiant glow this is a product to try. It isn’t glittery, it isn’t shimmery – it gives just the right amount of light and dewiness to the skin. The pen application offers control and ease of use. I apply this on the tops of my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, down the bridge of my nose, and under my brow bone for a soft, youthful glow.

If you prefer a powder highlighter, the Fresh Glow Highlighter is gorgeous. It’s available in four different shades and I have Rose Gold – a beautiful pearly champagne-pink shimmer. The intricate lace embossing on the powder makes this almost too pretty to use but the product itself is amazing. Like the highlighting pen, it still provides a soft, natural glow to the skin but can be built up to create a more intense highlight. The powder is finely milled and glides on the skin effortlessly without looking chunky or glittery. The packaging itself is very luxurious with the iconic Burberry plaid pattern embossed on the top of the compact. This is one of those products you can display on your vanity.
