How to Reconnect to Your Goals and Gain Clarity + FREE Challenge!

For the past five or so years, I’ve chosen a word at the beginning of the new year to be my theme. This year, I chose the word renew. (I talked about this process in my plan to succeed video >>HERE<<).

I chose renew for several reasons.

2016 was a crazy year full of growth and changes. I made a few choices in my business that caused me to lose quite a bit of money, I backed out of opportunities because of fear, we downsized, moved to Florida, and I questioned many things in my life. I went through periods of highs and lows – my life felt like a roller coaster ride.

I ended 2016 with a three week trip to refocus on my goals and business. It was exactly what I needed to clear my head and reconnect with my heart’s desires.

Renew seemed like the perfect theme word for 2017.

Five months into the year, I can say with 100 percent certainty that renew has been represented in every area of my life. I have more clarity than ever before and I’m working on some of the most exciting projects for my business that I cannot wait to share! Matt and I are closer than ever and I’ve truly invested in spending quality time with him on his days off (something that I’ve struggled with in the past…time off doesn’t really exist when you work for yourself – I’ve had to reallyyy find balance here!)

I wanted to share all of this with you because I want to tell you what’s worked best for me – how I’ve been able to refresh, begin again, and find renewal in my life.

The most important thing I’ve done was make quiet time a priority again. It seems so simple but it was one of the things that I’d slipped away from last year.

Last year, I stayed busy working on my business from the time I woke up until the time I went to sleep (usually after midnight). I was completely burned out. This year, I made the commitment to prioritize quiet time again. For me, this happens first thing in the morning, but for you it may be at night or whenever your kids are napping/in school/etc. But taking 20-45 minutes to journal, read my Bible, pray and meditate have made a drastic change in my mindset.

I’m less stressed, more centered, and more at peace. My mind feels so much calmer. When I’m working, I feel less overwhelm and I’m better able to focus on my tasks and clients.

What can you begin today to start incorporating quiet time into your daily routine?

I love journaling – it helps me clear my head and dig deep to uncover any hidden emotions that need to come to the surface. Journaling helps you see what you’ve learned and how you’re growing.
